Melissa shoes are unlike any other on the market today. 100% cruelty-free and made with eco-friendly vegan plastic, Melissa shoes showcase sustainable fashion at its finest and can be fully recycled at the end of their lifetime to prevent waste and build up in dangerous landfills.

Not only this, but Melissa Vivienne Westwood shoes are known for being extremely comfortable. With a snug fit and cushioned footbed, Melissa shoes are the ideal choice for women and girls, offering environmentally conscious fashion that looks and feels good.

With such good shoes, it’s only natural that you want to keep them as clean and shiny as possible. This is why our expert team at Hurleys have put together this handy guide, teaching you how to clean Melissa shoes and keep them looking their best.

Cleaning with a face wipe

Biodegradable face wipes (or makeup wipes) can be used to clean Melissa and Mini Melissa shoes effectively and quickly, and do a good job of ridding little nooks and crannies of dirt.

Make sure to use a fragrance-free and alcohol-free wipe that doesn’t have exfoliating properties, and use light sweeping motions across the shoes to clean. You can also scrunch the wipe up to get in any hidden spaces, but be careful not to rub too hard to damage the shoe.

Use a household tissue to dry the shoes, and leave the shoes to air dry for a few minutes away from direct sunlight.

Cleaning with soap and water

You can also use a light soap and water to clean your Melissa shoes, but the soap must be gentle and free of strong chemicals or alcohol that could damage the shoe.

Use a cloth to clean the shoes in the same way as you would with the wipe, and dry with a tissue before air drying.

Eucalyptus oil

If you have a stubborn mark that just won’t go away, we recommend trying Eucalyptus oil to get it off.

Make sure great care is taken when doing so, and that only a small amount is used as too much will damage the gloss and the overall finish of the shoe. Similarly to cleaning the shoe with wipes and soap, be careful not to rub too hard as it will damage the shoe.

Polishing

Once the shoes have air-dried, take a clean microfibre cloth and gently polish them. Going from front to back, use light motions to bring some shine back to your shoes.

When following this guide, be really careful not to clean too harshly to avoid creating further problems that can’t be fixed.

Although these tips can’t get rid of scuffs and tears, they can help your shoes stay shiny and polished, helping them last for years.
