How To Re-wear Your Party Dresses

Normally at this time of year, our social calendars are jam-packed full of parties and festive gatherings, but this year it’s looking to be a slightly more tame affair. Restrictions and social distancing mean we’re going to be hitting the living room for our virtual parties this season, with many of us heading to ‘club kitchen’ rather than our usual haunts.

With a more casual Christmas in mind, it seems that many of us will be opting more for Christmas casual than party season chic, with all those party dresses just sitting in our wardrobes collecting dust.

So our party attire may not be getting much wear this season, but who says you can’t wear your finery over the winter months? We show you how to re-work those party dresses into your everyday looks.

Long-Sleeved Tops Under Dresses

Sleeveless, strappy and cami dresses are our usual go-to for party season. So for day to day wear, layer with a long sleeve top for a warming winter look. Polo necks are great for adding a little extra warmth or accessorise with a winter scarf to turn those Christmas dresses into everyday essentials.

To make a statement, mix and match a print top with a patterned dress for a bold look this festive season.

Shirts Under Dresses

Want to re-wear your dress for the office? No problem! Similar to the above style tip, simply wear a shirt or blouse underneath for a smart casual look that is perfect for work. Keep it chic and sophisticated by adding a belt, tights and some heeled ankle boots.

Wear Jumpers With Skirts or Culottes

Got some chic party season skirts that need another outing? Wear with thick knitted jumpers for a cosy ensemble or opt for a sport-luxe sweatshirt for a more relaxed feel. Also works for those who love a pair of culottes or cropped trousers over the party season. Just finish the look with some trainers for a casual off-duty look.

A Cardigan And A Nice Top

If you’re not one for dresses, then perhaps your go-to party look is more of a ‘jeans a nice top’ vibe. If you’ve got a combo going dusty in the wardrobe, throw a cosy cardigan over the top to give it a new lease of life this winter.
